Cleveland Golf Courses
Big Met Golf Club

This is a recently re-opened municipal course about two miles outside of Cleveland. It's reportedly in great shape for a municipal golf course and not very expensive to play. Designed by Stanley Thompson, Big Met measures 6,125 from the back tees. Green fees are never more than $17.
Fowlers Mill Golf Course

This magnificent Ohio golf course, just about 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland, underwent a $500,000 face-lift in 1999 and became even more magnificent. A Pete Dye design, Fowlers Mill Golf Course is a state-of-the art course molded around lakes and streams. It's three sets of 9-hole that can be played in the following combinations: Lake/River, par-72, 7,002 yards; Maple/Lake, par-72, 6,595 yards; River/Maple, par-72, 6,385 yards. Green fees are pricey for the area, but this four-star Ohio golf course is worth it.
Gleneagles Golf Club

This is another Golf Digest four-star course just 20 miles outside of Cleveland. Water comes into play on 11 holes, and dense foliage lines almost every fairway. The Cleveland golf course is a par-72 that measures 6,545 yards. The most expensive green fee, with a cart, is only $41.
Manakiki Golf Club

'Manikiki' means 'many Maples' so go figure this Cleveland golf course is covered with Maple trees everywhere you look. Back in the 1950s, this Cleveland area golf course played host to the PGA tour. Now, it's a bargain, just a fifteen-minute drive outside of Cleveland. Well-maintained and challenging, it measures 6,625 yards. It's only $29-$14 to play 18 holes.
Quail Hollow Resort and Country Club

This resort and country club 30 minutes east of Cleveland is home to not one but two four-star golf courses: The Devlin-Von Hagge Course (par-72, 6,712 yards) and the Weiskopf-Morrish Course (par-71, 6,872 yards.). The latter golf course opened in 1996, and has since hosted the PGA tour's Buy.com event. Both courses are in top condition, and feature the latest in course design innovation. Plays are in the $50-$100 range.

This Cleveland area golf course received a rare four-and-a-half star rating, as well finishing in the top 50 courses in the country for its condition. It's manicured like the top tour courses, and built in and around a wetlands and wildlife preserve, water comes into play on an unbelievable 17 holes. Designed primarily by Dana Fry, this award-winning track plays from 7,002 to 5,500 yards with all its different tees. Any handicap can experience top of the line golf here, its in the $50-$90 range, and worth every penny according to its local reviews.
